Coal Science and Technology
Coal Science and Technology was founded in 1973 and published on a monthly basis. It is headed by the National Coal Mine Safety Administration and sponsored by the Coal Science Research Institute. Twelve issues and more than 400 papers were published each year, with a DOI code in each paper. The coverage of the journal includes the whole process from coal mining to clean coal utilization. It is currently the largest and most influential high-level comprehensive academic journal; It is the preferred journal for academic journalists, academic leaders, well-known experts, and PhD students, etc. to publish key academic achievements and academic views. The editor-in-chief is Wang Guofa, a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and the deputy editor is Professor Serkan Saydam from the University of New South Wales, Australia. The editorial board consists of one member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 15 members of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 114 academic leaders and 6 international editorial boards. The readers are distributed throughout China, North America, Australia, Western Europe, Japan, Southeast Asia and other countries and regions.
In order to provide readers with high-quality original results and strictly implement the peer review system, about 400 experts and scholars participated in the journal review process, with more than 200 active reviewers. In order to promote international exchange, all published articles in the journal have English title, author, organization, abstract, keywords, figure names, table names and reference documents. In particular, complete information are included in the English abstract, including research purposes, processes, methods, conclusions, etc. The English abstract revision was carefully done by senior scholars with overseas study and work experience with mining engineering background to ensure the readability and academic quality of the paper. All papers are available to download for free of charge on the official website of the journal (www.mtkxjs.com.cn). As of October 2019, 539 issues have been published, a total of 6 million volumes of magazines have been printed and published, more than 15,000 high-level academic papers have been published on basic academic research and engineering technology applications in various fields of the coal industry, providing important technical and intellectual support for coal safety and efficient mining and clean coal utilization.
According to the latest “2019 Chinese Academic Journal Impact Factor Report” published by China Knowledge Network, Coal Science and Technology has been cited 10167 times, with a composite impact factor of 2.502, ranking third in 75 journals of mining engineering and currently positioning in Q1 district. In 2019, the WAJCI index in the world academic influence was 1.449, ranking 10th in 32 world academic journals in the “Mining and Ore Processing” discipline in Q2 district, and ranked 1st in Chinese journals. It has been recorded in more than 10 well-known databases at home and abroad, such as the China Science Citation Database (CSCD), the US Chemical Abstracts, and the Russian Digest Journal. In 2018 and 2019, the journals stood out from more than 9,000 Chinese-language periodicals in China for two consecutive years and were selected as one of the "Top 100 Google Academic Journals of Chinese Academic Influence " (ranked 99th and 76th respectively).
Coal is the world's most abundant and widely distributed conventional fossil energy. In the past 20 years, China's coal science and technology development level has rapidly increased, coal mining technologies are at the world's leading level, and mine construction, coal mine safety, machinery and equipment manufacturing and other fields have already taken the lead in the world. Under the background of global clean and low-carbon development, the green mining of coal and the intensive use of clean and low carbon are the focus of the world. In the future, Coal Science and Technology will follow the trend and pay close attention to the most cutting-edge original achievements in the development of coal science and technology, and provide intellectual support for the transformation of coal from traditional energy to clean energy.
