Abstract:
In order to obtain mechanical feature parameters of different anchor cables, based on tensile tests for four types of cable strands and compressive tests for five groups of cable plates were carried out in laboratory. The tensile load-displacement curve of the strands can be classified as four stages: initial loading stage; el astic deformation to yield stage; strengthening stage after yield; broken stage. The strand displacement in elastic limit is pretty small, while the strand elongation appea rs mainly after yield, and it gradually increases with the strand diameter. The bearing capacity of five groups of cable plates is obviously higher than that of the cable str ands. The compressive load-displacement curve of the cable plates can be classified as five stages. The arch shape, size and bottom smoothness of plate are the main factors affecting its bearing capacity. There exist obvious differences on plate compressive deformation during various compressive stages. The plates with uneven bott om usually have larger compressive deformation. The domed washer is often pressed to occur necking deformation, and squeezed into the plate socket, which also affe cts the deformability of the plate.
