Preparation and performance of modified acrylic sand consolidation and water blocking grouting material

  • A new kind of modified acrylic grouting material has been developed to address the limitations of traditional inorganic cement-based grouting materials in sealing fine pores, as well as the shortcomings of chemical grouting materials such as polyurethane and epoxy resin in terms of durability, cost, and environmental impact. This grouting material not only has strong permeability and good groutability, but also has low cost. The effects of retarder dosage and reaction temperature on the gel time of modified acrylate grouting material were studied in order to optimize the formula to adapt to different engineering conditions. By adjusting the mass fraction of lotion, the compressive strength, elongation at break and storage stability of sand consolidation body of slurry were evaluated, and the optimal mass fraction of lotion was determined to be 20%. In addition, the influence of acrylic lotion with different glass transition temperature on the properties of grouting materials was compared to expand its application range. The results show that under the condition of water bearing sand layer, the best sand consolidation and water blocking effect is achieved when the water content of the slurry is below 89%. In water environments with different pH values, the reaction rate of the slurry is slower in acidic environments and fastest in alkaline environments. The prepared modified acrylic grouting material can effectively fix sand and seal leaks, ensuring that the sealed sandstone maintains excellent compressive strength, providing a new technological approach for safe mining in coal mines.
