Study and References of European Union ATEX Flame Proof Certification System

The paper introduced the EU ATEX flame proof certification system, stated the certification requirements and procedures of ATEX for the different safety grade flame proof equipment individually and indetail explained the certain procedure, method and requirements of the EC mode test and quality system certification.Ba sed on the circumstances, a comparison and analysis were conducted on the ATEX certification system and the domestic certification system of the mine flame proof pr oducts.In comparison with ATEX certification system, the framework established of the flame proof certificate system in China is not completed.The certification and ma nagement of the flame proof products are lacking of the gradation, the definition of the responsibility body for the flame proof products is not sufficient clear, the certific ation process is not standardized and the certification technology needs a scientific and effective study.The paper pointed out that a further study should be conducted on the basic conception of the ATEX orders.The ATEX successful experiences and practices should be referenced on the law and regulation support, the passed evalua tion procedure, certain certification methods and technology.
