Abstract
In order to realize the visualization of the rock cutting process of the roofbolter bit, the rock cutting mechanism was studied. An elastic- plastic coal and r ock failure model was applied to the similar simulation on the rock cutting process during the drilling process of the roofbolter. Thus the coal and rock failure law was an alyzed and the resistance load and other data of the roofbolter bit were obtained. The study results showed that during the drilling and cutting process, influenced by th e bit structure, the coal and rock could be divided into a direct breaking zone, failure zone and non- damage zone. Due to the influence of the coal and rock elastic defo rmation, the drilling resistance would be high and the speed of the roofbolter would be low at the initial operation of the bit. The number of the bit wings would be the bit speed fluctuation number per revolution and thus the number of the bit wings would be directly affected to the stability of the bit drilling process.
