Research and Development on Anti-Freezing and Sticking Drum and Application to Surface Mine

  • In order to solve the availability ratio problem affected by the sticking material on the drum of belt conveyor due to the temperature too lower in the winte r season of a large surface mine in high and cold area, a powder near melting point extrusion molding technology was applied to successully manufacture the ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE) coated drum with the anti freezing and sticking features.A site trial with the coated drum was conducted in Xilinhot Mining C ompany.The trial showed under the condition of no cleaning device installed with the temperature ranging from 0~37 °C, when the rotio of frozen sticking area and rubbe r coated area of the drum surface was not over 8% and thus the anti freezing and sticking function could be played.
