Study on flotation effect of low-rank coal slime with oxidized kerosene without catalyzing

  • In order to solve the disadvantages of traditional flotation agents, such as poor collection ability and high chemical consumption, the oxidized kerosene collector was prepared through non-catalytic oxidation, and flotation tests were performed on Hulusu coal which was difficult to floate by kerosene. The results showed, when the amount of oxidized kerosene was 2 000 g/t and the amount of secondary octanol was 100 g/t, the combustible recovery rate reached 90.62%, and the clean coal ash was 11.89%. As a composite flotation agent used alone, when the amount of oxidized kerosene was 1 500 g/t, the combustible recovery rate reached 81.02%, and the clean coal ash was 7.72%. The oxidized kerosene is separated into four components according to the type of functional group: non-polar hydrocarbons components, polar non-acids components (hydroxyl and carbonyl groups), free acid components (carboxyl group) and bound acid components (ester group), the oxidized kerosene and its separated components are determined by infrared spectroscopy. The flotation performance of each separated component of oxidized kerosene was measured and analyzed, the results showed that the collection ability from strong to weak was free acid components, polar non-acids components, non-polar hydrocarbons components, bound acid components should be further verified.
