Based on the in-situ stress measurement data from Xinwen Mining Area, the in-situ stress distribution features, law and affecting factors in deep coal mi nes were analyzed. On the basis of the in-situ stress data from more than 20 coal districts, the differences on stress states and ratio of horizontal stress to vertical stres s between shallow and deep coal mines were analyzed. The vertical stress decreasing and increasing zones and concentrated stress change around the heading face a nd coal face were studied. The distribution scope, peak value and spatial relation with the working face of mining-induced stresses were discussed through the analysis on the monitoring data. The support, reinforcement and stress control approaches suitable for deep roadways with high in-situ stresses and intensive mining-induced str esses were introduced. It was pointed out that the support and reinforcement technology with rock bolting and grouting as key and on the basis of in-situ geomechanics measurements, was an effective and economical strata control method for deep roadways.
