Abstract
Due to the low speed of coal roadway driving in China, it induced a large imbalance of the mining and driving speed in coal mine. Many manufacturers put a lot of efforts in research and development of driving equipment, temporary support and permanent support to improve the driving speed. The existing driving equipment in coal mining includes boom-type roadheader, continuous miner, continuous miner bolter and full-face driving equipment. Temporary support mainly includes self-advancing support, roadheader with temporary support and shield type temporary support. The permanent support mateives and equipment includes self drilling bolt, continuous miner bolter, hydraulic rockbolter and other hydraulic rockbolter equipment. Field practice show that the driving equipment can finish the coal and rock cutting task soon and meet the driving speed requirements. But the low support strength of temporary support can not meet support strength requirements in majority coal mine in China and the permanent support has complex installation processes. Overall, the existing rapid driving and support equipments have not generally improve driving speed of coal roadway in China and is difficult to break through in a short. In order to improve the overall driving speed, it is necessary put great efforts to develop new materials and equipment. More immediately, it is necessary to analyze the main factors that affect driving speed of coal roadway, and then establish the existing rapid driving equipment selection method. This paper summarizes the main factors that affect driving speed of coal roadway, including the surrounding rock conditions, engineering conditions, driving and supporting equipment conditions. According to various factors that affect a specific roadway, the influence degree of each factor on driving speed should be obtained. Then the equipment selection of rapid driving equipment under corresponding conditions can be determined. The evaluation method of rapid driving can provide the basis for determining the main factors affecting rapid driving and the selection of suitable equipment.
