Study on mine strata behaviors and powered support suitability of high cutting coal mining face with shallow mining depth

  • In order to study the mine strata behavior law, the rational working resistance of the hydraulic powered support and other suitability of the fully mechaniz ed high cutting coal mining face in a shallow depth seam, a site observation was conducted on the mine strata behavior and the working resistance of the hydraulic pow ered support in the first coal mining face of the mine-No. 10101 high cutting fully mechanized coal mining face of Ciyaogou Mine. A calculation was conducted on the ro of movement parameters of the coal mining face, the roof weighting step distance of the coal mining face and the rational working resistances of the powered support. T he paper had an analysis on the powered support suitability. The study result showed that the initial roof weighting step distance of the coal mining face was 56.8 m and was fitting with the theoretical calculation results. The periodic roof weighting step distance of the coal mining face would be increased with the pushing forward speed of the coal mining face increased. When the pushing forward speed of the coal mining face was 4 m/d and8 m/d, the periodic roof weighting step distance was 11.1 m a nd 22.7 m individually. The working resistance of the powered support in the coal miming face would be large in the middle and small in the two ends. The max working resistance of the powered support was 7 665 k N. The hydraulic powered with the selected max working resistance of 8 000 k N could reach the expected support effec t. But the measured initial support force of the powered support was too low and the operation technique of the powered support should be optimized further.The study r esults could provide the reference basis to the mine strata pressure control and the equipment selection of the late coal mining face in Ciyaogou Mine and the similar m ine with the other geological condition.
