Study on optimizing denitrification of activated coke loading NH 3 under moving bed process

Abstract
In order to improve denitrification performance of activated coke and corresponding moving bed reactor,the experiment sequence was designed in a fixed bed reactor to simulate the gas denitrification process of moving bed with activated coke. The authors tried to enhance denitrification efficiency of system by optimizing NH3 loading process. Firstly,loading NH3 over activated coke at 150,190,230,270,310,350 ℃ respectively and the treating capacity of NH3 was calculated by integral. Secondly,the denitrification experiment was conducted under the condition of simulated flue gas of 500×10-6 NO concentration and 150 ℃ . The authors selected typical NH3 loaded activated coke and original sample to do high resolution scanning of surface N element by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy ( XPS) . The results show that NH3 loading below 230 ℃ is dominated by physical adsorption,and higher than 230 ℃ is incorporation by the chemical reaction between NH3 and activated coke. The basic nitrogen-containing functional groups,such as pyridine and pyrrole which formed by high temperature NH3 loading are improved. There is a good linear correlation between the denitrification efficiency of activated coke and its NH3 loading capacity. Both physical and chemically adsorbed NH3 can improve the denitrification performance.
