Abstract
In order to have a relative quite accurate prediction formula in the study on the coal pillar eft, based on the multiple regression analysis method and the summarization on the related information of each typical mine fault water prevention coal pillar in China, the water head pressure, seam thickness, safety coefficient an d coal tensile strength were applied as the primary influence factors to study the left width prediction of each mine fault water prevention coal pillar.The Matlab software was applied to prepare the scatter diagram and the multiple linear regression analysis and multiple nonlinear regression analysis were conducted.A nonlinear prediction formula of the coal pillar left width was obtained.Verification was conducted on the formula with the mine cases and the formula was compared with the empirical formul a.The results showed that the prediction model formed with the multiple regression analysis would have high accuracy and would have relative wide application prospec t
