  • In order to compare the effects of four dispersants of naphthalene, aliphatic, polycarboxyliate, sodium lignosulfonate dispersants during preparing the coal water slurry, the effects law of different dispersants on the highest concentration, viscosity and fluidity of Shenmu coal water slurry were carried out. The performance of different dispersants and dispersing mechanism were analyzed. The results showed that the dosage of 0.2% of naphthalene, aliphatic,polycarboxylic acid, sodium lignosulfonate respectively, the highest concentration of Shenmu coal slurry prepared were 65.97%, 67.74%, 66.54% and 67.61% respectively. The dispersion properties from good to bad was naphthalene, aliphatic,polycarboxylate and sodium lignosulfonate. The matching effect of the dispersant anion was sulfonic group the best, followed by the carboxyl group, with the worst hydroxyl group. The effect of the dosage of dispersant on the viscosity of Shenmu coal water slurry was studied with naphthalene. It found that the saturated adsorption capacity of the dispersant was 0.6%. With the dosage of dispersant increased, the viscosity of coal slurry decreased and the viscosity increased after reaching the saturated adsorption capacity.
