In order to prevent and control the mine strata pressure bumping occurred in the mine thick seam gateway of the deep mine structure zone, with the theo retical analysis, a mechanics model of the mine strata pressure bumping occurred in the thick seam gateway of the structure zone was established, the failure features of the gateway horizon and the pressure bumping were analyzed and the pressure bumping type of the seam gateway in the structure zone was studied.According to th e certain seam conditions, with the artificial defects conducted to adjust and displace the seam stress field, the purpose to continuously and gently release the energy 0 f the structure zone was reached, the pressure released zone formed could reduce the mine pressure bumping danger of the seam gateway and could effectively preve nt and control the mine pressure bumping occurred in the thick seam of the deep structure zone.
