Abstract
In order to master the interaction relationship between initial support load of the powered support and the surrounding rock in the fully- mechanized coal mining face and to provide the theoretical basis of the powered support selection and the surrounding rock control, the theoretical analysis and the site observation met hod were applied to analyze the interaction relationship between the initial support load of powered support and the surrounding rock. The results showed initial support load would have important influences to control the falling of cracking immediate roof and to enhance the integrated strength of the layered immediate roof and the initia . | support load increased could effectively prevent the falling of the immediate roof. The initial support load would not only affect the rigidity of the support, but would infl uence the distribution scope of the increased resistance value. The smaller initial support load was, the higher roof subsidence value within the roof control scope of the powered support would be. The paper provided calculation method and influence factors of the stability coefficient for the coal wall of the coal mining face. With the Co mparison analysis, the mine strata pressure data of the two coal mining faces in Tiebei Mine showed a low initial support load would be the key factor to cause a large a rea roof weighting above the coal mining face.
